Ingredients

  • 2 pita breads
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • ½ teaspoon garlic
  • ½ teaspoon cilantro

Instructions

  • Mix the olive oil, salt, freshly ground pepper, and garlic powder in a bowl. Cut the pita bread into 8 triangles. Toss the pita triangles with the olive oil mixture until they are evenly coated.

  • Transfer the coated pita triangles to the air fryer basket. Air fry at 325°F for 8 minutes. Flip the pita triangles about half-way through. For optimal flavor, serve the warm pita chips immediately.

Use fresh pita bread: Using a fresh, high quality pita bread like our Homemade Pita Bread will result in a tastier pita chip because the freshly baked flavor makes a huge difference.
Mix the seasoning thoroughly: Make sure you whisk the olive oil and seasoning to make sure that the flavors are distributed evenly.
Brush don't toss the pita in the seasoning: When you toss the pita in seasoning, the pita pieces may not get evenly coated. It is better, whenever possible, to brush the pita pieces with the seasoning.
Place the pita triangles in a single layer: For maximum crunchiness, place the pita triangles in a single layer in the air fryer basket. This allows the hot air to overlap evenly around each chip.
To limit the amount of oil, use a cooking spray: If you wish to limit the amount of oil used in the air frying process, you can also use a cooking spray to coat the pita triangles, then sprinkle the seasoning on top.
Flip midway: To maximize even cooking and crunchiness, flip the pita triangles midway.
