Thanks for stopping by! I’m Lima. Welcome to my world of wicked good recipes fueled by my love of local flavors, cultures and the people and places that I love the most. My hope is to inspire a love for cooking and building wonderful memories by connecting with others.
To me, food is so much more than a culinary experience – it is one of the most powerful ways to build memories and connect with others. As a child, I remember coming home from school on a cold afternoon and being hugged by the delicious smell of cutlets, sizzling on the stove. In that moment, my stress melted away at the door, and I was myself again, relaxed and happy to see my family and glad to be home. Today, when my friends come over, the food draws everyone to the kitchen table. As we try different appetizers, we first talk about general things and then the conversation moves to topics that really matter. I love that feeling, when everything comes together and we all connect.
My passion is karate and I am very lucky to be able to attend classes with my daughter 2-4 times a week. When I get home, I am pretty tired, but there is only so much take-out that you can eat. So, I need a variety of recipes that work so well, that putting dinner on the table within 30 minutes is very easy. I was inspired to write this blog because I love to try out new recipes but found that many recipes by well known chefs do not always work the first time. While the ingredients and instructions were clearly there - little details about the best way to mix the batter or why certain ingredients mattered more than others, were assumed to be known. Many of these nuances were not obvious to me. Since I enjoy doing research, I thought others might benefit from having this information in one place.
I am really looking forward to hearing what you think. If you create any of my recipes please don't forget to share a photo with me - I can't wait to see them!!!
